Reset the voicemail password from the device

If you receive the announcement “Your account does not have access to the system; contact the system administrator”:

• It has been blocked from your voice mailbox due to too many invalid password attempts.
• This hard lock lasts 30 minutes unless you reset the password using one of the following methods:
o My Verizon application
or calling from the phone
o My Verizon website

Notes:
• Make sure your application is up to date, as the following steps apply to the latest version.
• The My Verizon app is only available for Android® devices with 5.0 or higher and Apple iOS devices with 11.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit verizonwireless.com to log in and manage your account.
• The available settings vary depending on the type of user (for example, account holder, account administrator, account member).

  1. From a home screen, navigate: Applications> My Verizon.
  2. Touch the Menu icon (top left) and then touch Account.
If prompted, enter your My Verizon password and then tap Sign in.
  3. Touch Account settings.
  4. Touch the Security tab (at the top) and then touch Manage voicemail password.
  5. Enter the required information in the following fields and then tap Update (at the bottom): the password cannot have repeated digits (for example, 1111) or consecutive digits (for example, 1234) and must contain 4 to 7 numbers.
    o Enter a new password
    o Confirm new password
This method is used to change your password for all types of voicemail (Basic, Premium, Visual, etc.).
  6. Press * 611 and then press SEND (airtime is free). Alternatively, call (800) 922-0204 (toll free) from any phone to access the automated customer service menu.
  7. When prompted to indicate the reason for your call, say “Reset voicemail password”.
  8. If prompted, enter the requested information for security verification.
  9. Follow the prompts to reset the password. The password cannot have repeated digits (for example, 1111) or consecutive digits (for example, 1234). If you receive a text message from the Digital Assistant, click the link and then perform the remaining steps according to the instructions.
